Salah Extends Regret to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones

Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his public comments.

The Incident

He was omitted from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Team Form

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to destabilise the squad.

“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
