Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the boxing community offered condolences for the fighter in the following the terrible crash.
